Cover Reveal: The Hero She Deserves

Tough. Honorable. Scarred inside and out.

Former military heroes turned loners.

These fierce protectors are unbroken heroes.

Today, I am so excited to share the cover for the next book in the action-packed Unbroken Heroes series – The Hero She Deserves.

This series stars tough former military heroes who once worked Ghost Ops with Vander Norcross. The best of the best of special forces, they did the toughest missions in the hardest places. Scarred and fighting their demons, they’re loners who’ve withdrawn from life. But they are always willing to help a woman in danger, and they’ll use all their deadly skills to protect the women who drag them into the light.

This story stars Deputy Sheriff Sawyer Lane. After years as a Navy SEAL and in Ghost Ops, Sawyer likes the peace and solitude of Maui, until Hollywood’s hottest actress bursts into his life.

But Oscar-winner Hollis Stanton isn’t in Hawaii for a vacation. She’s overheard something she shouldn’t have, and now she’s being hunted. She doesn’t trust easily, but maybe she’s found the one thing she didn’t believe existed–a true hero.

Take a look at the cover and blurb below, and scroll down to enter my The Hero She Deserves Giveaway to celebrate. I’m giving away some signed paperbacks Unbroken Heroes paperbacks.

When he goes to investigate a blaring smoke alarm, the last thing he expects to find is Hollywood’s hottest actress…naked.

Deputy Sheriff Sawyer Lane likes the pace of life on Maui. After years as a Navy SEAL and in Ghost Ops, he likes that no one shoots at him. Coming to the island saved him. He still can’t sleep, but he’ll take the sun, sand, and solitude.

Then Oscar-winning actress Hollis Stanton rents the house next to his and torpedoes his solitude. When she sets her coffee machine on fire, he meant to help, not see every glorious inch of her from her russet-red hair to her red-painted toenails.

Soon, they’re running into each other everywhere, and it doesn’t take all of Sawyer’s finely-honed skills to know she’s in trouble and hiding from something. Or someone.

Hollis Stanton usually loves her life—movie roles she enjoys, an Oscar on her mantel, financial security. She’s come a long way from the poor, gangly redhead in hand-me-down clothes. But one stupid party held by a powerful movie producer changes everything.

She accidentally overhears something she shouldn’t have.

Now, someone is following her, breaking into her house, and crashing into her car. Her plan is to lay low in Hawaii. What wasn’t in her plan is the big, muscular, and rugged deputy sheriff next door. Nor is their scorching attraction.

When danger closes in, Hollis realizes Sawyer is the real deal—a hero with scars, who helps those in need.

A hero who will do anything to protect her.

PRE-ORDER: The Hero She Deserves will be available for pre-order the Sunday before release day (1st December) and the book will be available in KU.

AUDIOBOOK: It is going straight into audio production with narrators Sebastian York and Emma Wilder.

Excerpt from The Hero She Craves (Unbroken Heroes #3) featuring Deputy Sheriff Sawyer Lane

“So, the great Lorenzo Santoro has fallen.”

Ren glanced at Sawyer beside him. His friend was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, a beer bottle dangling from his fingers.

“Yeah, he has,” Ren said.

“You look happy about it. Once, I remember you telling me there were too many beautiful fish in the sea, and you’d never let yourself get hooked.”

“I was an idiot,” Ren said.

Sawyer cocked his head. “No, you don’t just look happy about it, you look…right.”

“I never expected to fall in love. Or wanted it.”

“You always were stubborn.” Sawyer sipped his beer.

Ren spotted Halle and Tom. They were walking in the gardens. Halle wore a flowing dress, with a hibiscus flower tucked behind her ear.

He’d never be good enough for her, but she was his. No matter what.

Someone called out Halle’s name and Ren looked over. Sammy, Fitz, and Ryan were walking over. Sammy was holding two cocktails with leaves, flowers, and umbrellas sticking out the top.

The three scientists had joined them that morning, eager to be reunited with Halle.

“God, she’s amazing, Sawyer. It’s not just the big stuff. It’s the small stuff too. She just has to smile at me, and the world feels lighter.”

“First Vander got married. Then Boone and Shep fell in love with their women, now you.” Sawyer shook his head. “I hope it’s not catching.”

“Sawyer—” Ren grabbed his friend’s arm. “Don’t cut yourself off from living.”

Sawyer chuckled. “Ren, I’ve got lots of friends here. I’m a part of the community, whether I want to be or not.”

Ren shook his head. “I know how easy it is to be alone in the middle of a crowd. To keep things locked up inside you. To keep protecting yourself.”

There. He saw a dark flash pass through Sawyer’s green eyes before his friend looked back at the ocean.

“I know what happened to you,” Ren said quietly. “You have to remember you survived.”

At that moment, Halle looked up and caught Ren’s gaze. She smiled at him, and he smiled back.

“That’s in the past,” Sawyer said, tone flat.

“Just… If you meet her, the right one, she’ll help you. She’ll pour glue in all the cracks. She’ll make you feel whole again. You just have to let her in. I’m speaking from experience, here.”

Sawyer just grunted.

Ren sipped his drink and watched Halle clink her glass against Sammy’s. He hoped his friend got the message.

Because if he did, good things were waiting for him.

  6. Where do all the hunk-a-licious hero’s come from? Some cover artist brings our favorite heroes to life and they’re almost as good as my imagination. But nobody can beat the pictures that Anna’s descriptions of these heroes into our imaginations. What a way to finish out the year, a trip to the Islands with Anna’s imagination, and heros.
Coffee, biscotti, comfy chair, and a good book; yay!

  7. Loving this series as much as I have the others. In addition to writing great stories, Anna you also have a true talent for choosing great covers, and this cover for Sawyer’s story is proof once again.
