Every year is always filled with challenges and triumphs, highs and lows. It is what we do after the challenges that counts, and it always pays to celebrate your wins as well.
2016 was a great year for me. I watched my two young boys grow and learn, and I worked hard to bring the stories in my head to life and give them to my readers.
It was a pretty big year for me. I wrote just shy of 600,000 words. I released 13 books! I launched two new series (Treasure Hunter Security and Galactic Gladiators), I hit the USA Today Bestseller list, and I released my very first audiobook.
People ask me how I do it (especially with two young kids), and I won’t lie, it is a lot of hard work and a lot of long hours. BUT, it doesn’t feel like it because I love what I do. It doesn’t feel like it because every awesome message from a reader who loved a book, series, or character makes it all worthwhile. Every lovely review from a satisfied reader makes it all worthwhile. Every award or inclusion on a Best Of or Most Memorable list makes it all worthwhile.
So it is farewell to 2016 and hello to 2017. I hope you overcome your obstacles and I hope you have lots of wins ahead of you.
For me, I will be writing, getting more books out there (ebook, print, and audio), doing what I love, and bringing as many action-packed romances to my amazing readers as I can! Happy New Year.
